EUMETSAT provides an extensive range of high-quality satellite data, products and services. The primary services of EUMETSAT are those associated with the data from Meteosat first and second generation satellite series, and the Metop satellite series. These data, products and services are made available via EUMETCast, the satellites themselves (direct dissemination/readout), the Global Telecommunication System (GTS) and FTP over the Internet. In addition, EUMETSAT plays an important role in the retransmission of a variety of other satellite data, meteorological products and environmental data generated by our partners and a growing network of external data providers.

Product Navigator
The Product Navigator is designed to put a vast range of essential environmental data at the fingertips of users around the globe, by making it easy to search for and list environmental satellite data and products.
|
Delivery Mechanisms
The data, products and services provided by EUMETSAT are made available to users via four key delivery methods: EUMETCast, Direct Dissemination, the Global Telecommunications System (GTS)/RMDCN, and via the Internet.
|
|
Meteosat Image Services
EUMETSAT provides image services in real-time from several satellites, including the first generation Meteosat-7, and the second generation Meteosat-8 (for rapid scanning) and Meteosat-9.
|
Meteosat Meteorological Products Products from the Meteosat satellites have many meteorological and research applications. They allow detailed monitoring of the state of the atmosphere, from which a predicted state may be interpolated on the basis of physical understanding and past experience of the way in which the atmosphere behaves.
|
|
Data Collection and Retransmission
The Data Collection and Retransmission service enables Data Collection Platform (DCP) Operators to use the Meteosat system to retransmit those DCP data collected from their DCP platforms to their own reception stations and to the Global Telecommunication System (GTS) community.
|
Environmental Data Services
The environmental data services provided by EUMETSAT are a selection of bespoke services designed to support environmental monitoring as well as operational forecasting activities. External data providers, including major meteorological centres, are responsible for the content of these services.
|
|
Other Geostationary Services
In addition to the Meteosat geostationary satellite data, EUMETSAT relays satellite data from partner organisations.
|
Metop & NOAA Services
The data services of the EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS) are generated from data provided by the Metop and NOAA polar orbiting satellites. These services include satellite instrument direct readout data and processed products generated from these data.
|
|
Inter-calibration Services
The following pages show EUMETSAT's inter-calibration results applied to different pairs of satellite instruments.
|
EUMETSAT Data Centre
The EUMETSAT Data Centre receives and archives images and meteorological products from the satellites. The archiving process is automated, and is carried out 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
|
|
User Support
The EUMETSAT User Service enables users to obtain the maximum benefit from the data, products and services of the current and future satellite systems. We will help you make optimal use of the services provided by EUMETSAT by responding quickly to your queries, and sharing knowledge and expertise via targeted training courses.

Licensed Services
Some services are classified as "licensed" services, these
are services for which access is controlled and granted only
upon the acceptance of licence terms and conditions. In some
circumstances licence fees may be charged. For further
information on EUMETSAT's licensing conditions and licence
fees consult the EUMETSAT Data Policy.
Essential Services
Other services have been classified as "essential", access
to these services is provided without licence, and without
charge.
External Services
Services on EUMETCast provided by external (to EUMETSAT)
data providers may be classified as either essential or
licensed, depending upon the individual conditions applied
by the data provider themselves. Where licensed, the
external data providers are responsible for the licensing
process. In some circumstances a service may not be
licensed, but its access is restricted and reserved for
certain categories of user only, e.g. Meteorological Data
Dissemination (MDD).
